Sandy Knoll Farm

Gelbvieh and Balancer Cattle in Kansas Built for Performance and Longevity

Sandy Knoll Farm is a multigenerational family-owned farming and ranching operation in central Kansas specializing in raising registered Gelbvieh, Balancer, and Angus genetics built for commercial production. Established in 1934, our farm reflects multiple generations of commitment to agriculture and the beef industry. Our cattle program has been built with a clear objective: to develop structurally sound, functional cattle that deliver proven performance while remaining predictable and profitable in the cattle industry.

As one of the longest-standing and largest Gelbvieh and Balancer programs in the country, our cattle are backed by decades of disciplined data collection, performance records, and intentional selection decisions. We emphasize calving ease, growth, maternal strength, carcass merit, and longevity—designing cattle that excel from pasture to rail. Whether producing replacement females or feeder cattle, Sandy Knoll genetics are developed to add measurable value across the entire beef supply chain.

The mission of Sandy Knoll Farm is to operate a sustainable, data-driven operation that maximizes productivity and profitability through the production of high-quality crops and livestock — creating value for our customers while preserving a thriving rural lifestyle for future generations.

Kansas Gelbvieh Seedstock with Proven Performance

Our registered Kansas Gelbvieh and Balancer cattle are bred with longevity, fertility, structural integrity, and performance at the forefront. Sound feet and udders are non-negotiable, and females must breed back, maintain condition, and remain productive over time. At the same time, we recognize that pounds drive profitability—so growth, feed efficiency, and carcass merit remain central to our breeding objectives.

For more than 30 years, Sandy Knoll Farm has operated with a retained ownership mindset, compiling extensive feedlot performance, feed efficiency, and carcass data on non-replacement quality cattle. That depth of historical data continues to shape our disciplined selection process today. Combined with genomically enhanced EPDs, our genetics are backed by real-world performance and built to deliver measurable value for commercial cattlemen.

Feedlot Proven Gelbvieh and Balancer Genetics

We are proud to be a Cow Power® Certified Herd through the American Gelbvieh Association, with more than 90% of our breeding-age females genomically tested. In addition, we have collected ultrasound, carcass, and feed efficiency data to ensure our genetics align with modern industry demands and deliver measurable performance.

Our data-driven approach allows us to confidently serve a wide range of producers. From commercial cow-calf operations to progressive seedstock programs, we provide the genetics you need to push your program forward.
