Feedlot Performance Backed By Numbers

Gelbvieh cattle in Kansas that turn a profit

At Sandy Knoll Farm, one of our key differentiators is our longstanding commitment to retained ownership and feedlot performance data. All cattle not retained for the breeding herd are fed out, allowing us to evaluate growth, feed efficiency, and carcass merit firsthand.

For over three decades, we have collected detailed feedlot and carcass data to guide our selection decisions. This includes ultrasound, carcass measurements, and feed efficiency records, ensuring our bulls are backed by verifiable results—not just pedigree or EPDs.

We aim for our bulls to sire calves that perform at every stage—from pasture to feedlot to rail. With this confidence, we are always happy to share the numbers with our buyers so they can see the value for themselves. As ranchers, we understand the importance of proven genetics and the impact they have on profitability. As Brian says, we want our customers to “profit from our data at every level.”
